1. Silkscreen Workshop With Delicious Design League
Yearbook is going to do a demonstration at the Delicious Design League studio on how to silkscreen for anyone who haven’t had the chance to try their hand yet.
Delicious intern and Yearbooker Alexander Todaro is going to set up a two-color poster and guide us through the process Thursday, Sept 2nd from 11am-2pm.
Take a long lunch and come hang out even if you do know how to silkscreen; it’s a great opportunity to use some very nice equipment and mingle with professionals.
Please RSVP with us on Facebook!
A special thanks to Jason and Billy from Delicious for graciously letting us use their space!

  4. So, Brief No.4 was faaantastic! Thanks to everyone who made it out and to Adam for hosting.
We had a nice variety of responses to the new assignment; seems like people had fun with the flexibility of the new model (e.g: flip books, math equations, design tests, &c.).
A decent amount of time was also spent trying to make a dent in the giant pile of coffee sleeves Wormhole kindly donated to Yearbook while munching on Jessika’s home-made oreo cookies (nice work Jess!)
Take a peek at the zine and sleeve illustrations & help us plan the next meeting!
A very special thanks to Jeff Harvey for just being a dedicated mofo!Hey Jeff! You’re on fire! In a good way!

  5. The Pilsen galleries are having their 2nd Fridays Art Crawl this friday (the 9th) and in an effort to get Yearbook more gallery-active, the Field Team is making this into a casual, non-assignment event. So head down to Pilsen anytime from 8-10pm and browse the open galleries, drink some free wine and afterwards meet up with the rest of Yearbook at Jeremy Mumenthaler’s apartment on 18th and Halstead.
The meet up will be a chance for the Groups to present their progress/directions and for us to do some easy collaborative artworks (think group collaging, illustration exercises &c.).
